Horned Toad Games Update June 2024

Hey there! In this update I’ll walk you through everything that happened this month at the Horned Toad Games HQ.

Last month the order for ‘The Arena of Baradum’ was confirmed with Fabryka Kart, our manufacturer in Poland. Production has officially started! The latest from Fabryka is that the templates of the punchboards are ready. Currently the files are going to graphic studio for a last check. As soon as this step has been completed, the actual printing will start. An exciting prospect and an absolute milestone for Horned Toad Games.

If you want to receive the game when it drops in September/October, you can Late Pledge the campaign on Gamefound. The game will also become available in the webshop on this website, but this will take a little bit longer to prepare. Hoping to have it up somewhere this summer.

All the STLs files of all the characters available in The Arena of Baradum have been added to the webshop. You can find them here. For all the completionists out there: the print2play files for the extra characters will drop later this summer. That means files for 4 extra characters, being: Vera Haedrick - Praetorian, Hymir the Unbroken - Runesmith, Vradir - Monk of the Scorced Earth and Astyana Retarius - Pit Fighter. These characters offer a slightly different gameplay than the characters in the base edition and they are a must for every gamer who wants to fully experience ‘The Arena of Baradum’.

To keep the train running so to speak, a new game has entered the fray. A prototype has been constructed and the first demo sessions have already taken place. The game it currently is, it’ll be a card game with the main game mechanic being engine building. I’m so fond of this mechanic (some of my all time favs are engine builders) and I’m keen to add a new twist to the genre. Hopefully I’ll be able to share more about the game in next month’s blog!
