Horned Toad Games Update August

Hey there! In this update I’ll walk you through everything that happened this month at the Horned Toad Games HQ.

Well, not too much haha! This month I went on a holiday, playtested the new game a couple of times and I’ve been waiting, eagerly and impatiently I might add, for ‘The Arena of Baradum’ to be finished. According to the manufacturer, everything has been going very smoothly and according to plan. This means the game will be finalized in week 36 and delivered in week 37. When writing this blog, this means next week and the week after!

In order to move forward with shipment to your table, I’m in need of the exact size and weight of the game. I wanted to do this way earlier, but I don’t want any negative surprises on your end regarding this process. Once the information is final, the Pledge Manager will go live, as well as pre-orders in the webshop. For now, the game can still be pre-ordered through the Late Pledge on Gamefound.

When I started the journey to create ‘The Arena of Baradum’, my idea was always to have as much characters available as possible, as this is where I personally take joy out of as a gamer. Due to this process being my first, a very costly and an educational one, 4 of the characters that were intended to be in the base game are now available as print2play files in the webshop. I wouldn’t want you to miss out on the fun of playing these characters, as they each bring a new dynamic playstyle to the board. Go check them out!

In the last month, I’ve playtested a new game. I’m quite happy with the early results and also keen on a theme. I’ll bring the game to the Amsterdam Boardgame Design XXL event on September the 28th at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. If you’re keen on contributing to a new and easy game to learn with a very tactical playstyle, I can’t wait to see you there :)
